NEW STRAWN — Three people from Colony were killed and four were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on U.S. 75 a mile south of New Strawn in Coffey County. Killed were 28-year-old Kris Devoe, 7-year-old Lexi Tolbert and 4-year-old Payton Devoe. The Kansas Highway Patrol said 68-year-old Walter Snyder was driving a dump truck south on U.S. 75 and was stopped on the highway trying to make a left turn onto County Road 15. Troopers said Jonathan Kilpatrick, 22, Kincaid, was driving an SUV south on U.S. 75 and drove into the back of the dump truck. Kilpatrick and passenger, 28-year-old Kayla Devoe, 28, Colony, were taken to KU Medical Center. Other passengers in Kilpatrick’s SUV, 2-year-old Megan Kilpatrick and 1-year-old Skylar Kilpatrick were taken to Children’s Mercy North, Kansas City.
