OTTAWA — A rural Ottawa man was hit by lightning during Tuesday night’s storms. dersheriff Steve Lunger said Joe Bowen Jr. was standing in his kitchen washing dishes when the lightning bolt entered the house and struck him. Lincoln-Ottawa-Harrison Township fire chief Jim Stonequist said Bowen received a few minor injuries and mostly a buzz from his close encounter with Mother Nature. Bowen refused an ambulance, Stonequist said.
