GARNETT — Anderson County drivers and their passengers could get a ticket if they don’t click it. Garnett and Anderson County officers will start handing out tickets June 30 for those drivers who don’t wear seat belts. A new state law that cracks down on seatbelt use goes into effect today but the Anderson County Review reported that officers will just issue warnings for the next three weeks. There’s also a new law outlawing texting while driving but officers will issue warnings until Jan. 1, when they start writing tickets.
