One of the highest priorities of Kansas Governor Laura Kelly is to expand medicaid in the state. Franklin County Health Department Director Midge Ransom says there are some local residents that could benefit from this program.
Ransom says some parents choose to pay for children’s medical treatment out of pocket, but that’s only a small fraction of the children that are uninsured.
