Don’t be surprised if you start getting more tickets from the Ottawa Police Department. They have announced they will be placing safety notices on vehicles left running unattended and unlocked with the keys in the ignition. Ottawa Police Chief, Adam Weingartner:
He adds that 101 vehicles were stolen the past two years in Ottawa and the majority were unlocked with the keys in them.
Not only will people who leave their cars running get warnings, those of us that do play it safe and lock our cars may also notice tickets, stating that the vehicle is secure and to keep up the good work.
