OTTAWA — The county will buy 40 acres this month to expand the county’s transfer station, and construction and demolition landfill. County administrator Lisa Johnson told commissioners Monday that the county has done a survey of the property and that there’s no overt problems with the site. Because the site is in the city’s urban growth area, the county will also seek the appropriate permits from the city, she said. Money for the land purchase comes from the transfer station revenues and recycling sales and no tax money is involved.
