Kansas Legislators are faced with a lot of hard hitting questions this Legislative Session regarding many topics.  One topic is how to save rural hospitals.  With talk about the expansion of medicaid and knowing that 65 to 70 percent of those dollars will go to urban hospitals, Lawmakers are asking what they can do to target rural hospitals and keep them open.  The answer:  The Rural Health Care Innovation Fund.  Representative Blaine Finch says it’s a challenge to private health foundations to match 10 million dollars in State funds.  The partnership is then granted out to Counties.  Finch explains:

Finch talks with KOFO’s Dave Edwards about this and four other major points in what is called the “No Place Like Home” plan being considered.  This plan  includes building tomorrows work force today, encouraging home ownership, the targeted Employment Act, and reducing taxes for seniors.  Tune in tomorrow morning at 8:04 for Community Perspective.
