Good news for Advent Health Ottawa. The hospital has earned five stars from the Centers for Medicare and Medical Services Overall Quality Star Ratings. Ottawa was one of only 10 hospitals in the entire state to earn the highest possible rating. The rating reflects many categories: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, effectiveness of care, timeliness of care and efficient use of medical imaging. Advent Health Mid-America Region CEO, Sam Huenengardt, says that the nurses and doctors and other team members are proud to see their work providing whole person care to the Ottawa Community. He adds that Advent Health Shawnee Mission has also received a five star rating. Less than 10 percent of hospitals surveyed in the United States received the perfect rating.
