The Osawatomie Library Speakeasy Fundraiser was very popular last week. Speakeasies were makeshift drinking establishments that sold alcohol during the Prohibition Era in America.  Some of the attendees at the Library’s Fundraiser were adorned in the 1920’s style costumes from the Speakeasy Period.  The evening featured live music by Tony “The Piano Man” Baragona of Heartland Dueling Piano’s.  The Library raised about two thousand dollars from the event and it will be used to fund adult programming at the Library.  Director Elizabeth Tripp says they plan to host another Speakeasy fundraiser next year.
