Recent talks about improvements at the Ottawa Municipal Airport, such as new taxiways, hangers, and the eventual expansion of the runway could play an important role in the economic development in Ottawa, particularly when it comes to attracting potential businesses to Proximity Park. Lloyd Builders owner, Josh Walker, who recently purchased and renovated the Haloren building at 4th and Main in downtown Ottawa says airport expansion could be a great benefit.
The airport capital improvement plan would like to expand the runway another 1,000 feet which would allow small passenger jets to land in Ottawa. Most of the cost of the improvements planned in the immediate future would be financed by the Federal Aviation Administration.
