In what may be a first, a woman has been selected to be on the Wellsville City Council. During its regular meeting, the Council selected Natalie Patton to fill the seat left by the resignation of Kyle Laswell. Patton has been a education professional for several years, and says this will be a new experience for her.
In other news, the Council approved an ordinance that permits residents to burn leaves on the second and last Saturdays from September 30 to May first. Residents will have to get a burn permit from the Franklin County Emergency Management Department.
