The Franklin county sheriff’s office responded to the report of a shooting Sunday afternoon in Williamsburg. The report came in just after noon in the 300 block of north Center avenue in Williamsburg. Upon arrival, EMS found a 35-year-old Williamsburg man who had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. a 31-year-old female on the scene told authorities that the man sustained the wound as he was attempting to take the firearm from her. The victim was transported to a Kansas City area hospital with a life-threatening injury. The sheriff’s office says an investigation is ongoing and details would be released after the investigation.
