A big drop in sales tax collections in December for Anderson county, compared to a year ago. Distribution dropped from nearly $151,000 in February of last year to $108,000 last month. The county, as a whole collected 3.2 percent less last year, which was the most of surrounding counties. Nearly all other counties saw an increase of some sort. Franklin county saw just nearly a 2 percent increase last month and over a six percent increase from a year ago. Miami count also saw an increase, nearly 6 percent last month a slight increase over the past year.

Garnett’s half cent tax was down 3/10 of a percent and collected about $23,000 for the month and was up very slightly for the year. The city of Richmond collected 20 percent more for the month of February, and showed a 14 percent increase for the year. The city of Kincaid was up nearly 25 percent month over month to $535 for February and 28 percent for the year. Colony’s April 2019 ½ cent tax added $676 for the month and $4,164 for the year
