The Kansas Department of Health and Environment gave an update on the COVID-19 pandemic yesterday afternoon.  The number of cases in Kansas has risen to 747 with 22 deaths associated with the virus.  There have been 183 hospitalizations reported.  Franklin County reported its 10th case yesterday.  The person is a woman in her 50’s and is a family member of a previous positive case.  Johnson County reports 192, Douglas 33, Miami 2, Linn 5, Osage 3 and Anderson County still has no reported cases.

United States Surgeon General, Jerome Adams, said yesterday, this week could be the toughest week for the Nation, comparing it to other national tragedies:

Across the U. S., as of yesterday, there are over 321 thousand cases with 9 thousand deaths, however most people are recovering from the illness.

Franklin County Health officer, Dr. Bud Ransom, says  people in Ottawa need to take the Stay At Home Order much more seriously, and those that are not, could potentially be infecting others.
