With Governor Kelly’s Order that places restriction on Church services and funerals to 10 people or less, change comes to local Church services that are gearing up for Easter Sunday. In Garnett, the local Ministerial Alliance is planning two “Social Distancing” services for the upcoming observance of Good Friday and Easter, as pastors in the area continue to find ways to bring worshippers together — just not too close together — to study the word.
Easter Sunday services will be a drive-in event at 8:00 Sunday morning in the Anderson County High School parking lot. Area Pastors will deliver the Easter message from a flatbed trailer stage to be visible from vehicles, with audio broadcast over the low power FM channel 99.9 FM.
Secretary at the Garnett Church of the Nazarene, Stacy Gwin, says they are asking everyone to stay in their cars, with the windows up, and if you choose to stay home and are located within a mile, you should still be able to tune in to 99.9 FM and listen to the service.
