American Eagle Outfitters has announced a $50 thousand grant to the City of Ottawa to provide assistance to local businesses suffering as a result of COVID 19.  Mayor Tom Weigand says he appreciates American Eagle’s generosity to help small businesses.  He adds that the measures the American Eagle has taken to prioritize the health and safety of their workforce and the community far exceeds Center for Disease Guidelines, and by remaining open, they fuel the flow of commerce through our area.

American Eagle has also donated 28 thousand masks to Ottawa First Responders and Public Health Officials and has partnered with local restaurants to provide more that $100 thousand in meals to associates and their families.  It was also reported that many of the associates had donated their meals to organizations within the community, including first responders, Advent Health, Meals on Wheels and ECKAN.
