At her daily new conference today, Governor Laura Kelly says she has signed an order temporarily easing regulatory measures on Health Care Providers, saying Health Care Facilities need as much flexibility as possible as Kansas approaches the peak in COVID-19 cases to make sure hospitals don’t become overwhelmed:

She added that these workers will be covered by liability protections of the Kansas Emergency Protection Act.  The KDHE provided an update on the number of cases in Kansas this afternoon.  It has gone up to 2,482, with 112 deaths associated with the virus.  There have been 442 hospitalizations reported.  Franklin County remained at 12 cases, Johnson County reports 403, Douglas 44, Miami 4, Linn 5, Osage 5, and Anderson County still has no reported cases.

Governor Kelly also discussed the reopening of the economy, which she says will be gradual.  More details of the Economic Plan will be released next week.
