Whether the Ottawa Swimming Pool will open this Summer apparently is still an open question. Earlier City Officials had announced the pool would not open, but during the regular City Commission Meeting, City Commissioner, Sara Caylor, and Ottawa Recreation Commission Executive Director, Chad Bruner, had a discussion:
The City Commission has the final decision, and decided to table the matter until their May 20th meeting. Officials had said because of uncertainty over the coronavirus crisis, and the long time it would take to train lifeguards, it was simply best to not open the pool. But again, that decision apparently is not final. The ORC has said the earliest the pool could open, at this time, is July 13th.
