HILLSDALE LAKE — There are still openings for the 2010 Marais des Cygnes Basin Leadership Onstitute starting July 29. Coordinator Lesley Rigney said the three-day leadership series will give you an explanation about water quality issues and ways to improve water in the region. The leadership series is supported by a special federal grant for counties in both Kansas and Missouri in the Marais des Cygnes and Osage River basin. The institute is open to anyone — but residents, landowners, elected officials, business and government leaders are especially invited. To enroll go to the Hillsdale Water Quality Project Web site at hwqp.org/brochure2010.pdf. The cost is $35 and should be paid by Tuesday.
