LOUISBURG–After a couple months of argument, the dump truck ordinance in Louisburg has been dumped. The City Council recently repealed the existing ordinance which regulates the streets which large trucks are allowed to travel. The whole issue started when a resident complained about a dump truck owned by council member Glena Windisch. Her truck was normally parked on Broadway Road near the entrance to Louisburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. A resident complained the truck presented a safety hazard, causing drivers to sway into the lane of oncoming traffic. After some study, the council voted to repeal the measure without having one to replace it. Windisch abstained from the vote.
