OTTAWA — Ottawa school board members have been debating a proposal by high school officials for randon drug and alcohol testing. They told board members that they are responding to a Communities that Care survey that nearly many of the high school students have tried or are using marijuana, prescription drugs or alcohol, Supt. Dean Katt said. The board debated the proposal at length last week and asked for more information on a testing program.
