CHANUTE – Dr. Brian Inbody, vice president of student learning for seven years, has been named president of Neosho County Community college. Neosho trustees named Inbody Monday night to succeed Vicky Smith, who will become the president of McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, Ill. Inbody will take over as the state’s second fastest-growing community college, which is based in Chanute but has a second campus at Ottawa. Ottawa has been a major reason of the college’s growth, he said. He said that one of his most important first duties is to shepherd the construction project for a new campus in eastern Ottawa, which is targeted for completion for March. “Personally, I cannot wait to cut that ribbon on our new campus,” Inbody said. He will become president July 31.
