BALDWIN CITY — The Wheat State Pizza shops in Baldwin City, Lawrence and Emporia have reopened after they were closed and seized by the state for non-payment of taxes Monday. The Lawrence Journal-World reported the pizza-shop chain has a new owner, Brad Remington. Remington told the paper that the delinquent taxes have been taken care of. Wheat State Pizza and former owner Ryan Murphy owned nearly $234,000 in back sales taxes and withholding taxes.
