BALDWIN–When school starts August 17 in Baldwin, the new elementary school will not be open. Parents and students found out on enrollment day this week that children would not be moving in because there is considerable work that needs to be done on the interior of the building. School Superintendent Paul Dorathy says it looks like move-in day will be around Labor Day. He says the hard winter and heavy spring rains slowed work on the facility, so it is no surprise that there is a slight delay in opening the new school.
