A Pomona man was arrested for DUI after backing his pickup truck into the north side of the Ottawa Kicks Amoco Convenience store at 1621 South Main, Saturday morning. The accident occurred just after 11:00. A 68 year old Pomona man was arrested for driving under the influence and no proof of insurance. Considerable damage occurred to the north end of the convenience store. No injures were reported as a result of the accident. Ottawa Police Department and Ottawa Fire Department responded to the incident.
The business was closed for a couple hours as the incident knocked out power to the pumps and other parts of the building. An electrician was called in and repaired the damage to the electrical box, and the business reopened about 3:00 that afternoon.
