The Holiday Inn Express on the south end of Ottawa, is opening today with a soft opening. Officials with the company were in town last week to oversee final touches. It offers 82 rooms using bright colors to liven it up. Those staying will have access to a full breakfast, a workout center, and indoor heated pool and the Ottawa Room, a conference room available for meetings of 60 to 70 people. Nancy Johnson is the local manager. She says the company wants to not only be a part of the Ottawa Community, but also look for ways to make a positive difference. Ottawa Chamber Director, John Coen, says an official Ribbon Cutting will be scheduled sometime in mid October. He looks at the opening of the Holiday Inn Express as another sign that the local economy is ticking in the right direction. So, if you get a chance, stop by and say hello to Johnson and the staff.
