A new law that went into affect this year allows veterans to seek medical care at local hospitals and clinics and not be restricted to the Veterans Administration Hospitals and doctors. During a visit to Advent Health Ottawa recently, Kansas Senator Jerry Moran commented on”The Mission Act”:
Veterans can seek care at local hospitals and doctors offices under the Mission Act. Moran says before this, the wait time was so long in some cases that vets were getting sicker and in some cases, dying, as a result of the long wait times.
