OTTAWA — At Wednesday night’s budget hearing, several people asked county commissioners to increase funding for the county’s public transportation service. Among them, Gene Hirt of Williamsburg said that the number of riders increased sharply in the last few months and many people have become dependent on the service. The county has benefited from the service because of the regular schedule that hauls people from the county to Ottawa merchants.
