The USD 290 School board listened to a plan to get students back into school, full time, in-person, last night. Superintendent Dr. Ryan Cobbs says the Franklin County Health Officer believes the kids, particularly at the elementary level, need to be in school and returning to school will help fill some glaring holes the district has seen come up in attendance and allow teachers to access the full curriculum. Cobbs says it’s a phase-in plan:
He adds that, from the beginning, the Hybrid Model was not what they wanted. It was a hold-over until they could get kids back to school full time. The phase-in plan was approved unanimously by the School Board. They will review the plan in two weeks.
