OTTAWA — Ransom Memorial Hospital’s new surgery suite will begin operation on Sept. 7th after the Labor Day holiday. The surgery is part of a $9 million expansion and rehabilitation project at the hospital. Hospital CEO Larry Felix said the new suite has drawn high marks from surgeons. It will have the most state-of-the-art features including high-tech diagnosis and scanning computers, lighting and a self-contained air filtration system that prevents infection, he said. The new surgery is on the first floor of the expansion to the north of the hospital. The top floor of the new addition is the birthing and obstetrics wing and work is winding up that will open in late October, Felix said.
