Governor Laura Kelly has announced the recipients of $9 million in Grant money that strengthens the State’s Food Supply System. She says the Grants will allow local food and agriculture businesses to expand their capabilities to respond to the food supply needs in their communities. Two Ottawa businesses received funds. Bauman’s Butcher Block received $100,000 and Rolling Prairie Farmers Alliance received $75,000. Other Franklin County Organizations receiving Grant money were Family Church Helping Hands Community in Wellsville with $30,000 and the Pomona Food Pantry in Pomona receiving $18,000.

Others getting Grants in the listening area are Anderson County Poultry Processing in Garnett, Ten Mile Farm in Spring Hill, Mound City Butcher Block, the Christian Action Team in Osage City and Osage Capital in Osage City, as well as 14 businesses and organizations in Douglas County.
