Last night a Public Question and Answer Meeting on a proposed Community Center in Baldwin, that would make use of an existing historic builing known as The Bauer Building, built back in the Great Depression by the Works Progress Administration, commonly referred to as the WPA. Baldwin City Council Member, Susan Pitts, says there would be ammy activities available at the Center:

If approved by the City Council and then by voters, Pitts says, a half cent sales tax would be imposed to pay for renovating the Center. The cost would be around $1.7 million. Pitts says the reaction from the townspeople so far has, for the most part, been quite positive.
