It may seem like a crime right out of the wild west, but cattle rustling is alive and well in the area. According to area farmers and ranchers, it’s going on in surrounding counties also. Franklin County Sheriff, Jeff Richards, says his department is trying to crack down on it:
Richards says although the punishment for cattle rustling has changed over the years, it’s still a very serious crime and his Deputies will be doing everything in their power to put a stop to it.
