There has been talk of changing the Child Labor Laws in Kansas to allow kids under the age of 18 to get more work experience in industry. USD 290 Superintendent, Dr. Ryan Cobbs, says this would be a huge benefit to the efforts he is trying to achieve with other area Superintendents in utilizing the Career and Technical Training Center at OHS. He says the biggest hurdle so far is the inability to overcome the liability of students under 18, which limits the ability to address and engage students in specific industry:

Cobbs is in talks with up to 12 area Superintendents in an attempt to create a bigger workforce for industry that may move into Proximity Park.
