GARDNER — A 16-year-old student at Gardner-Edgerton High School was killed Monday night in a two-truck crash west of Gardner. Andrew Hurd was a junior and captain of the Trailblazers’ soccer team. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department said Hurd was driving an SUV when he ran a stop sign at an intersection at 159th Street and Four Corners Road and hit a pickup truck. Two other people were hospitalized. The sheriff’s department said one is in critical condition.
