WASHINGTON — Miami and Linn counties have been named part of a federal disaster area. U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts said that because 55 Missouri counties were named in a federal disaster declaration because of severe weather damage earlier this year, nine neighboring Kansas counties were also included. Some kansas farmers and ranchers are now eligible for reimbursements for losses because of high winds, flooding and excessive rain that occurred between February 1 and July 15, he said. Affected farmers should contact their local Farm Service Agency office for more information.
