KANSAS CITY — It’s over the bounding main for lots of hardy, and now wet, folks. After being delayed nearly a month by high water and fast currents, the Missouri River 340 race is rolling down the river. The float race goes from Kaw Point Park in Kansas City and down the mighty Missouri River to St. Charles, Mo., near St. Louis, 340 miles and gazillion bugs away. Boaters have 88 hours and have to stop at nine checkpoints to finish the race. The race’s Web site says only two-thirds of the teams completed the race last year.
