After a two week hiatus, West Franklin USD 287 students went to to In-Person schooling Tuesday. A surge in positive COVID 19 cases a few weeks ago, led to Superintendent Jerry Turner placing the District on an Online-Learning Platform.
In a letter to patrons,, Turner expressed his thanks to all the parents who helped their children through the period, and he encouraged parents to monitor students for any symptoms and not send them to school if any symptom of COVID, the flu or even seasonal allergies are present.
He also urges everyone to continue to wear masks, wash hands properly and socially distance. He says that if all students, staff and families can adhere to the guidelines, the chances of continuing In-Person school are greatly enhanced.
