The execution of a former Osage County woman has been rescheduled for January 12th. A Federal Judge in Washington had delayed the December execution of Montgomery because her lawyers tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus, after visiting her behind bars. The delay was meant to allow her attorneys to recover from the virus and file a clemency petition on her behalf.

Lisa Montgomery, of Melvern, was set to be executed December 8th after killing a pregnant Missouri woman and cutting the baby out of the womb, after driving to Missouri, presumably to buy a puppy, but strangled Bobbie Jo Stinnett and took the baby. The last Federal female inmate to be executed was Bonnie Heady after a kidnapping and murder incident in Missouri in the early 1950’s
