The City of Ottawa cannot meet the demand by citizens to tear down condemned houses in their neighborhood and the City has already maxed out the budget on that item. City Manager, Richard Nienstedt told city Commissioners he has an idea:
Nienstedt says he has taken a look at having city crews tear down condemned houses, but the insurance and other factors is so huge that it’s better to have outside, qualified contractors, do the work.
