TOPEKA — The investigation into the crash of a church bus on I-35 near Wellsville is nearly finished. The crash in July injured about 10 children. State Trooper Neil Stanley said he needs to download the information stored on the black box on the damaged bus before the investigation is complete. Stanley said he’s been trying to arrange an appointment with the Independence, Mo., church that owns the bus so he can do the download. All buses are required to have the black boxes – actually they’re red — that record a variety of information, including speed and direction of travel.
