In an effort to ramp up testing for COVID 19 in Kansas, the State has opened several free testing sites in the are for people to get their tests done. These sites are being offered in collaboration with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and part of Governor Laura Kelly’s Public Health Campaign called “Stop The Spread. It’s Up to US, Kansas.”
Locations in the KOFO listening area include one at Neosho County Commynity College, in Ottawa. Pomona at the Community Building, and Paola at the Paola Adult Educatios Center.
In Paola, the first day was last Friday and Emergency Management Director, Martk Whelan, says 144 people werre tested that first day, more than trple the number they expected.
The overall goal of the testing program is to double the number of tests by the end of the year. The tests are free and no insurance or ID is required. No appointment is required, but you can book one at “gogettested.com/kansas.
