Ottawa University announced today that the University is beginning the search for anew University President and Chief Executive Officer to succeed Chancellor Kevin Eichner, who plans to retire after the completion of his current contract which runs through July 1, 2022.

Ottawa University Board of Trustees Chairman Lucky Defries says Ottawa has been very fortunate to benefit from Eichner’s leadership the past 12 years; a time of unprecedented growth and progress Eichner served on the Board Of Trustees for 25 years and was named the 21st President of Ottawa University in March 2008. Eichner says he and his wife have loved their time at OU and cherish the relationships they have with the Board, staff, students, alumni and donors and they are what brings the OU Spirit to life. He believes starting the search for a successor early will allow him to guide that person in a smooth transition and ensure that the new president will benefit from his years of experience, contacts and continued engagement in strategic initiatives.

The goal is to name Eichner’s successor my mid to late Spring and have the new person in position by July 1st
