OSAWATOMIE — President Theodore Roosevelt will show up at the Freedom Festival in Osawatomie, just in time for the 100th anniversary of his dedication of John Brown Memorial Park. Nationally-known Roosevelt historian and re-enactor Joe Wiegand will perform at the Freedom Festival, which is Sept. 18-19. Other re-enactors will bring to life John Brown, his half-sister Florella Adair, Confederate general Robert E. Lee and Deborah Sampson, the girl who passed as a man and fought as a soldier for George Washington in the American Revolutionary War.
