TOPEKA — Powerlifter Vashon Perryman of Ottawa is the world’s strongest man – even if it’s amateur status and without steroids. Perryman recently won three top honors at the Natural Athlete Strength Association’s World Cup championship in Denver. At the World Cup competition, the 165-pound Perryman lifted 606 pounds in dead lift and squat, 305 pounds on bench press and 155 pounds on strict curl. Perryman was featured in Sunday’s Topeka Capital-Journal Midway section. He is a student at Washburn University in Topeka and personal trainer at Maximus Fitness and Wellness in Topeka.
