OTTAWA — The Ottawa Police Department will take part in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Sept. 25. The program is designed to offer the community an opportunity to legally dispose of unused, unneeded or expired prescription drugs in a safe manner, said Ottawa Police Capt. Randy Allan. Prescription drugs may pose a hazard to children if left in the home or may become a target by thieves who sell them illicit use, he said. There will be a drop box in the lobby of the Ottawa Police Department where prescription drugs can be dropped off for disposal without questions, and at no cost, he said.
Monday, Sept. 13, 9 a.m.
