LAWRENCE — Kansas University asks you to get into herbs. Or more precisely into KU’s native medicinal plant research garden and Rockefeller Prairie. The garden’s fall open house and medicinal plant walk is Saturday morning 10 to noon. KU professor and Kansas Biological Survey ethnobotanist Kelly Kindscher will share information about Kansas and Great Glains native medicinal plants. Go north out of Lawrence on U.S. 59, turn east on U.S. 40 and go one-and-half miles to East 1600 Road, north a half-mile north to the garden, which is next to the Prairie Moon Waldorf School. Rockefeller Prairie is three miles north of the garden. To learn more about the program, visit www.nativeplants.ku.edu or the program’s Facebook page at facebook.com/nativeplants.
