LAWRENCE — A Kansas University student from Paola has won a top Naval ROTC award. Paola High School graduate Christian Jenson received the U.S. Navy Legion of Valor Bronze Cross of Achievement. To be eligible for the Bronze Cross of Achievement, a midshipman must be in the top 25 percent of his or her NROTC class in aptitude and academic standing and demonstrate outstanding military leadership qualities. Jensen is a senior in political science and plans to attend law school. He is a Midshipman First Class and commanding officer for a battalion of about 80 midshipmen.
