OTTAWA — Ransom Memorial Hospital posted a loss in August. Traditionally, August is a bad month for hospitals’ finances and chief financial officer Dean Ohmart said he had budgeted for a loss in August – and the hospital hit the budget, he added. Many hospital staffers take the last of their vacations in August before the traditional fall and winter rush of patients, he said.
