TOPEKA — Marjorie Thomas, of Garnett, has been in Topeka this week to take part in the Silver-Haired lLegislature as a delegate from Anderson County. The organization, established by the Kansas Legislature, consists of people aged 60 and older elected by their peers to develop resolutions of interest to Kansas seniors and their families. Among the proposed resolutions: Allowing the use of medical marijuana, open up the rules that allow grandparents to be custodians of children, eliminate sales tax breaks to organizations that don’t provide services on a statewide basis and term limits for legislators.
